Fire Alarm Basics

This course is provided to help you better understand the basics of fire alarm systems. 

Use this course to become familiar with fire alarm systems, understand the requirements of fire alarm systems and to also refresh your memory about fire alarm basics

This course will only cover the basics of fire alarm systems. You will not be qualified to install fire alarm systems with only this training but you will have a good foundation on which you can build upon. 

There is a test at the end of this course so be sure to take notes and read every slide. The test is a 10 question test which is a practice drill for the NICET Level I test. The questions on the test will be from NFPA 72 2019 edition, OSHA regulations, and First Aid Questions, and Some electrical theory questions. 

This course will not cover all of that material but it will help you understand the principles, concepts, operation, and equipment of a Fire Alarm system which will help you understand the questions on the NICET exam. 

I encourage you to look up key sections of NFPA 72 as you are reading this course. As you start a topic, look up the chapter in NFPA 72 that Applies to that topic so that you improve your ability to navigate NFPA 72.
