Learning outcomes
After completing this module, you should have an improved understanding of how to:
- Step up asthma therapy to achieve symptom control and reduce the risk of exacerbations
- Help patients understand the importance of reducing the future risk of adverse asthma outcomes
- Start conversations with patients regarding treatment adherence
- Describe the benefits of using a once-daily inhaled corticosteroid/long-acting beta agonist for those with moderate asthma
Contributing experts
Content for the Research Review Speaker Series was provided by:
Dr Angela Moran, a Respiratory Physician at Christchurch Hospital. Dr Moran completed a Clinical Research Fellowship with Professor Ian Pavord at the University of Oxford/Oxford NHS Trust Hospitals, where she was an integral member of the Severe Asthma Service.
Dr Kate Perry, Director of Behavioural Science at Atlantis Health. Dr Perry holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Sussex, England and has over 20 years of experience working within the healthcare sector.
Module questions have been developed by Dr Chris Tofield, who works in primary care skin cancer treatment and as a consultant to Research Review.
